Ralph H. Baer, the inventor of the Brown Box.
Video games have come a long way from Spacewar! and Pong, and now people can play video games on many different devices with amazing graphics! The first game system to be invented was called the "Brown Box", invented by Ralph Baer in 1967. Baer was a German engineer that fled from Germany with his family during World War II. He served the American War Effort, which interested him in electronics. He was nicknamed "The father of video games" for inventing the first working video game consoles.
Many more consoles were developed throughout later years. Atari was another early console made in 1987. Then a company named Squaresoft made the first 3-D game called 3-D WorldRunner in 1987. After that, another company rose from inventing video game consoles called Nintendo. They made the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985 (Also known as the Nintendo Family Computer) and then the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990. There were many more consoles invented this time period, so I'll sum it up in a big table
